Hey guys! So we've got less than a week till we are all together in lovely gainsville, GA getting all psyched up for our time in Brazil! I wanted to send you a rough idea of what i'm packing to hopefully help you as you start packing too. I'm sure there are things that i'll forget so feel free to ask questions and as Angie and I talk with Paul and Ashley (our missionary contacts in Brazil) we will add more to the list.

I'm packing...
Clothes (boys)
Up top!
- 6 regular t's
- 2 collared shirts (church)
- 6 undershirts (beaters as some call them)
- 1 long sleeve (it might be cool in the evenings)
- medium temp jacket
the bottom!
- 4 pairs of shorts (2 athletic, 2 cargo)
- 2 pairs of pants (church, jeans)
- 7 pairs of boy things ha
- 1 pair of swim trunks
- probably want a dirty close bag
Foot attire!
(we are going to be doing some construction so you need some good sturdy shoes or boots)
- 1 pair of keens (they are a good solid hiking sandal. these are my everything shoes. if you have time and a couple bucks i'd really recommend them)
- rainbow sandals
bathroom stuff!
- tooth brush with case
- paste
- floss (its important!)
- the retainer
- face stuff
- shampoo
- bar of soap
- deodorant
- qtips
- towel (travel towels are good to help save space)
- nail clippers
- hair clippers (can anyone cut hair?)
- razors and cream
- always good to bring tylenol and other normal meds like that
- might need sunscreen
- don't forget your meds, inhalers or whatever else you need to live!
Bedding stuff!
- travel pillow (i have a medium sized therm-a-rest pillow. its good for packing light)
- bed sheet (probably be sleeping on bunk beds. not certain. will let you know when we do...)
- sleeping mat (i have a therm-a-rest sleeping pad. its incredible! well worth the 70 bucks. i'm guessing you won't need one but its equates to good sleeping for me.)
- microfiber blanket (its light and easy to pack but still keeps me pretty warm)
other importants!
- Bible!
- Journal
- couple pens
- bug spray
- head lamp! (they rock!)
- Nalgene (you have got to have a good bottle! get one that will last forever! its worth the 10 bucks)
- a knife (not everyone needs one but they do tend to come in handy
- leather work gloves (Paul asked us to bring a pair for doing construction)
A few extras for me!
- my laptop (pretty positive you guys aren't allowed but its essential for us leaders to have one. we will most likely have a team laptop for you guys to share.)
- iPod touch (is it possible to live without music? i don't want to find out...bring it if you want)
- sound dock (i'll be bringing mine so we can have music and also if we listen to teachings we'll all be able to hear it easily. might have dance parties too!)
- i'm bring a few books (well probably have down time in the evenings)
- camera (don't forget it! and bring your battery charger and connector cables to upload your pics)
SUPER IMPORTANTS!
- Peanut Butter (we need to bring as much peanut butter as we can. if you're bag only weighs 45 lbs then bring 4 lbs of peanut butter!)
- ID (license, passports, visas? money, credit/debt cards)
I'm have a 60 liter pack that i'm packing all my stuff in. You definitely don't have to go get one but they are pretty nice. I'm also bringing my day pack (back pack) as my carry on and so that i can have it with me when we are going place to place doing ministry. Again, feel free to ask questions. i'm sure i forgot something. See you soon!!!
